Sperm donor categories
When receiving treatment with us, you have the option to choose your sperm donor.
In Denmark, you can select either a closed/non-contactable sperm donor or an open/contactable sperm donor.
Donor sperm from sperm banks
We have partnerships with several trusted Scandinavian sperm banks.
This means that you can book a sperm donor from these sperm banks directly with us. This saves you transport costs, pregnancy slot costs etc. And we have the donor sperm ready for you when you come to the clinic for treatment.
You also have the option of choosing a donor from other sperm banks. In this case, you will be responsible for the actual purchase process and for having the desired unit sent to us prior to your treatment.
Sperm donor categories
You can choose between open (ID-release) or closed (No ID-release) donors.
The choice is entirely yours, but we are happy to guide you on the implications of the different donor categories.
No ID-Release/closed donors:
The donor remains anonymous, and the child will not be able to obtain identifying information about the donor.
The donor can have a maximum of 12 families in Denmark. The donor’s maximum number of families worldwide is stated in the information about the donor from the sperm bank.
ID-Release/open donors:
From the age of 18, the child can receive information about the donor’s identity through the sperm bank.
