Fertility screening
Book a fertility screening to get clear answers and plan the best time to start your family journey.
Have you considered the state of your fertility?
Many people assume they can have children without difficulty, but the reality is that fertility is declining in the Western world for both women and men.
That is why it is a good idea to get a fertility screening. It can help you understand whether you have plenty of time or if it is time to start project baby sooner rather than later.
We offer fertility evaluations and guidance, even if you’re not currently planning to have children.
A fertility screening provides valuable insights into your reproductive health and egg reserve, helping you make informed decisions about your future.
This can be especially useful if you:
Gain clarity about your fertility and take control of your family planning.
As a heterosexual couple, you can receive an evaluation of both partners’ fertility.
A fertility screening can provide:
Early testing can identify potential issues in time, allowing you to make informed decisions about your future family planning.
You can choose from 4 fertility check packages designed for women and couples.
The packages have different content depending on your needs. See the elements below to find the right fit for you.
We review key factors that may impact your fertility, such as previous pregnancies, contraception use, sexually transmitted infections, and other gynecological conditions.
Additionally, we discuss lifestyle factors, including smoking, family history of fertility issues, and the results of any semen analysis. Our fertility specialist will provide you with a comprehensive evaluation and an overview of your fertility status.
You will also receive practical advice on steps you can take to optimise your fertility.
The scan is performed to count the follicles in your ovaries, which helps estimate your egg reserve. At the same time, we assess the structures of your reproductive organs and check for potential abnormalities, such as ovarian cysts, signs of endometriosis, or benign fibroids/polyps in the uterus.
The ultrasound is conducted vaginally, allowing for a clear view of your ovaries and uterus.
AMH (Anti-Müllerian Hormone) is produced by the small follicles in the ovaries and, like the ultrasound scan, provides an indication of a woman’s egg reserve.
AMH levels are measured through a blood test. During your consultation, we will discuss how you would like to receive the results of this test.
To conceive naturally (or through insemination), at least one fallopian tube must be open to allow the egg to travel to the uterus and implant.
An HSU (Hystero Salpingo Ultrasonography) is a tubal patency test used to examine the fallopian tubes. During the same procedure, a saline ultrasound is performed to assess the uterine cavity for any abnormalities. This helps identify blockages or issues that may contribute to infertility.
The procedure involves gently injecting a contrast agent into the uterus via a thin catheter inserted through the vagina and cervix. Initially, a small amount of saline is introduced, and the uterine cavity is scanned using ultrasound. The contrast agent is then carefully injected, and its movement through the fallopian tubes is observed.
The goal is to determine whether the contrast agent flows freely through the tubes and into the abdominal cavity. If blockages are present, the contrast will not pass, indicating a potential cause of fertility issues.
A semen analysis evaluates the man’s sperm sample by assessing volume, sperm concentration, motility (movement), and morphology (shape). This provides an indication of sperm quality, categorised as good, mildly/moderately reduced, or severely reduced (very few or no sperm cells present in the sample).
The sperm sample can be provided in the clinic’s designated collection room or, if you live nearby, collected at home and transported to the clinic immediately after.
