Risks of donor egg IVF
Here you will find information about the risks associated with IVF using donated eggs – and the measures we take to minimise these risks.
Research shows that after becoming pregnant through IVF with donor eggs, there is an increased risk of pre-eclampsia and high blood pressure.
The risk is 2-3 times higher than a pregnancy achieved with your own eggs.
This may mean you’ll need blood pressure-lowering medication during pregnancy, and the birth might need to be induced before the due date.
To reduce the risk of pre-eclampsia, aspirin is recommended for women who become pregnant with donor eggs. We will guide you through this during the treatment process.
During hormone therapy, which is part of the IVF process, some women may experience side effects.
It is important to be aware of these symptoms and discuss them with us so that we can offer the necessary support and advice.
To minimise risks and ensure a healthy pregnancy, we offer comprehensive counselling and monitoring throughout the treatment process.
Our team of specialists will work closely with you to tailor the treatment to your individual needs.
