The egg donation process begins with an initial consultation and relevant medical tests. Afterward, the recipient is matched with an egg donor, and the donor's eggs are retrieved following hormonal stimulation. The eggs are fertilised in the laboratory with either the partner's sperm or donor sperm, and the fertilised eggs that develop into blastocysts are then transferred into the uterus.
