Can we have multiple fertilised eggs transferred at once?
In Denmark, it is recommended to transfer one fertilized egg (blastocyst) at a time to minimize the risk of a multiple pregnancy. Multiple pregnancies increase the risk of complications such as preeclampsia, which is already a higher risk when using donor eggs. Therefore, only one fertilized egg is transferred at a time. If multiple blastocysts are available, they can be frozen for later use.
